Crown Royal was introduced in 1939 by Samuel Bronfman as a luxury Canadian whisky launched under the Seagram’s umbrella. The whisky was a tribute to the royal tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. It was sold exclusively in Canada until 1964, and since has been distributed to many parts of the globe.
