Ketel One is a liquor brand produced by the Nolet Distillery, a centuries-old producer founded in Schiedam, Netherlands. The vodka is distilled from 100% wheat in copper pot stills then filtered over loose charcoal. Ketel One gets its name from the original copper pot still, “Distilleerketel #1.” Carolus Nolet created this brand in the 1980s during the fledgling stages of the American cocktail renaissance to offer bartenders a premium vodka for their drinks.
Aroma features a clean, subtle minerality with white pepper accents. Mouthfeel is soft and silky, delicately flavoured with hints of fennel, citrus and sweet licorice.
Vodka is a clear distilled alcoholic beverage. Different varieties originated in Poland, Russia, and Sweden. Vodka is composed mainly of water and ethanol, but sometimes with traces of impurities and flavorings. Traditionally it is made by distilling liquid from fermented cereal grains. Potatoes have been used in more recent times, and some modern brands use fruits, honey, or maple sap as the base. Since the 1890s, standard vodkas have been 40% alcohol by volume (ABV).
