Lunazul was founded by Francisco Beckmann, a seventh generation descendent of Jose Antonio de Cuervo.  Francisco launched Tierra de Agaves Distillery in 2004 after selling his stake in the Cuervo Distillery, and created the Lunazul brand to offer a 100% Blue Agave tequila at an affordable price.

Aroma features a refreshing fruit nose exhibiting tropical and apple notes with a healthy dose of salt and citrus, similar to that of fresh agave.  Semi-viscous palate with peppery ripe fruit tones.  Finishes with crisp citrus and hints of vanilla.

Tequila is a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant.  It is primarily produced in the Mexican State of Jalisco, and also in areas surrounding the city of Tequila just northwest of Guadalajara.  It is recognized as a Mexican Designation of Origin product in more than 40 countries.  Technically tequila is a specialized type of “Mezcal,” an ancient Mexican spirit made from numerous varieties of agave and often imbued with a smoky quality via its production process.
