THE STORY

Stella, the Belgian word for “star,” refers to the Christmas star.  This beer was originally produced as a special holiday release for locals of the brewery’s hometown, Leuven. The horn on the bottle is an homage to one of the earliest breweries in Belgium, Den Hoorn, where Sebastian Artois apprenticed.

THE FLAVOR PROFILE

Floral, noble hop aroma with hints of bready grain.  The palate is crisp, clean, and dry.  Maximum quaffability.  **Note- Stella Artois has slightly different recipes depending on the country of distribution**

CATEGORY DESCRIPTION

Pilsner is a type of pale lager beer.  Its namesake comes from the German name of the Bohemian city of Plzeň, where it was first produced in 1842 by Bavarian brewer Josef Groll.  The world’s first pale lager, the original Pilsner Urquell, is still produced there today.
